How to be a bargain bride

The Irish Times recently published an article full of advice for those readers who are braving the wedding aisle in the middle of this recession.

Some of the things that they advise include:

  • Shop around various venues, and bargain with them.
  • Try charity shops for wedding dresses, and hire the bridesmaid dresses.
  • Create your own wedding stationery.
  • Choose flowers that are in season.
  • Choose a CD/DVD only package to save on a wedding photo costs (no album), or get your friends to take pictures.
  • Go directly to suppliers for rings.
